For the last 13 years, Marvel Studios has tried to keep its surprises for the big screen. Perhaps someone should have told Russell Crowe. His appearance in the upcoming sequel, Thor: Love and Thunder, was exposed after he was spotted hanging around with Chris Hemsworth and the rest of the cast outside of the set. Now, Crowe has apparently spoiled the character he will play.
While speaking with an Australian radio station, Crowe revealed that he will portray Zeus, the patriarch and leader of the Olympian gods. You can hear Crowe’s comments below.

In Marvel’s comic book universe, Zeus is a longtime friend and occasional rival of Thor’s father, Odin. Zeus is also the father of Hercules, the legendary demigod who went on to join the Avengers in the ’80s and ’90s. If Zeus is in this movie, it stands to reason that the rest of his pantheon may appear as well.
However, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher is the villain of this film. That could mean that Gorr will target Zeus before he inevitably takes on Thor and the Asgardians.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on February 11, 2022. Production is currently underway.
