Bodhi Sabongui Lands a Key Role in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam Film

In addition to finally letting Dwayne Johnson headline a superhero movie, Black Adam will also help launch the careers of some promising young talent as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bodhi Sabongui has joined the cast of New Line’s upcoming film. The studio couldn’t divulge the full nature of his character. But apparently, Sabongui is playing “a key role in the Black Adam-DC canon.”

Earlier this week, Tony nominee James Cusati-Moyer also joined Black Adam in a mystery role of his own. We still don’t know what to expect from the film in terms of plot details. Regardless, we do know that Johnson’s titular anti-hero will tangle with members of the Justice Society. Over the last few months, the filmmakers have filled out this roster with Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi and Marwan Kenzari will appear in the movie as well.

This won’t be Sabongui’s first visit to the DC Universe. In 2018, he guest-starred on an episode of The CW’s Legend of Tomorrow. Additionally, he’s had recurring roles on ABC’s A Million Little Things and Netflix’s reboot of The Baby-Sitters Club. At just 13 years old, Sabongui also advocates for a variety of social justice causes as the head of his school’s civil rights club.
