Diana Gives Chase in the First Wonder Woman 1984 Clip

After a series of delays, Warner Bros. is officially premiering Wonder Woman 1984 before the end of the year, which means the studio is launching an unconventional promotional tour for the highly-anticipated sequel. During this weekend’s MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time special, Gal Gadot debuted a new scene from the movie that shows Diana and Steve Trevor pursuing a convoy of army trucks led by Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord. You can check it out via Discussing Film below.

Lord only appears briefly at the beginning of the clip. But whatever his trucks are hauling is enough for Diana and Steve to give chase in a stolen taxi. Of course, Diana covers more ground on foot, so it’s not long before she’s sprinting after Lord with Steve following in the car behind her. This is likely just a small taste of the action that the 151-minute movie is expected to deliver. But the shot of Diana using her lasso to stop a bullet from hitting Steve should be enough to hold a few fans over until release day.

Over the weekend, critics also began sharing their initial reactions to WW84 on social media, with many praising it as one of 2020’s few bright spots. Fans were also treated to another trailer for the film at Brazil’s virtual CCXP event yesterday.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits theaters and HBO Max on December 25. It will also be the first HBO Max title to stream in 4K resolution.
