Last month, word broke that Zack Snyder will film new scenes for his Justice League cut. Now, it looks like Snyder has added an unexpected new cast member to the mix. According to The Hollywood Reporter, multiple sources are confirming that Jared Leto will reprise his role as the Joker in the Snyder Cut.
Leto previously played the Joker in Suicide Squad. However, Leto appeared to step away from the role after Warner Bros. made an unconnected Joker solo film starring Joaquin Phoenix. It’s unclear if Leto has only a cameo in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, or if his role will be more substantial.
Additionally, THR notes that Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard are already filming new scenes for the movie.

Speaking of Fisher, THR also notes that Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will not receive any credit for Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The reason given is that neither Johns nor Berg are studio executives and they had no involvement with this incarnation of the film. Fisher accused Johns and Berg of covering for Joss Whedon’s alleged misconduct on the set. Whedon was brought in to the finish Justice League when Snyder stepped away to deal with a family tragedy.
HBO Max will release Zack Snyder’s Justice League as a four-part miniseries in 2021.
