Today, August 5, is the birthday of director James Gunn. That’s why several of the cast members from his next film, The Suicide Squad, put together a special video compilation of their birthday messages. Margot Robbie kicked things off with her alter ego, Harley Quinn, and herself. John Cena and Idris Elba joined in shortly thereafter. Elba’s altered voice may have been an attempt to troll fans who want him to play Bronze Tiger in the film.
David Dastmalchian teased his character, Polka-Dot Man, while Nathan Fillion took his Gunn fandom to new heights. Frequent Gunn colaborator Michael Rooker closed out the video with a sarcastic message of his own.
Hey @JamesGunn – here’s a little birthday gift for you!

Gunn thanked the cast almost immediately after the tweet went up. He also shared an advance look at The Suicide Squad logos in several different languages.
