Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings Will Resume Shooting This Month
Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was one of numerous films that came to a halt over the coronavirus pandemic. However, a new report suggests that Marvel is almost ready to roll cameras on Shang-Chi.
According to Deadline, Marvel is taking “careful steps” to resume filming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia. The film began shooting in February, before director Destin Daniel Cretton was forced to self-isolate after potentially being exposed to COVID-19. Cretton’s test came back negative, but the production shut down shortly thereafter.

Simu Lu, Tony Leung, and the rest of the cast will be placed in quarantine when they get back to Australia. Those guidelines are in place for Cretton and the crew as well. However, it’s unclear if the film will still be on track for a summer 2021 release.
Within the film, Lu stars as Shang-Chi, while Leung will play his father, the Mandarin. Awkwafina and Ronny Chieng also star in the film.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is currently scheduled for May 7, 2021.
