It’s crazy to think two weeks ago the Snyder Cut of Justice League was just a pipe dream, and now we’re hearing that Henry Cavill is negotiating to return as Superman in the DC Extended Universe. Another character that deserves a little more screen time is J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon, who popped up for a brief cameo in Justice League and would have returned in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film. In a recent interview with Jake Hamilton, Simmons dropped a few tidbits about his role in the Snyder Cut and whether he expects his character to return. “I did talk to Zack, yeah,” Simmons says in the interview. “He had to get everyone’s permission to actually even do that, you know? And by everybody I mean the cast. So yeah, we chatted a couple of times and I don’t know that there’s gonna be significantly more Commissioner Gordon. There was a little bit more that we shot that wasn’t in the first cut there, so, I don’t know. I’m anxiously awaiting as all the fans are.”
Cryptic, right? He talked to Snyder a couple of times, which is interesting. Personally, I’d love to see more of Simmons’ take on the character. After all, he did get ripped out of his mind for the role, and it was a shame when Batfleck’s Bat flick fell through. That would’ve been incredible. One can always hope, right? Who knows where we’ll be two weeks from now?

Zack Snyder’s Justice League will reportedly cost around $20-30 million in order to properly finish the editing and visual effects of the director’s original vision. The original post-production crew will likely return along with the cast members to record additional dialogue for the cut. No new shooting days are expected.
Fueled by the hero’s restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Justice League sees Bruce Wayne enlist the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League, which features a screenplay from Chris Terrio from a story by Snyder and Terrio, stars Affleck as Batman, Cavill as Superman, Gadot as Wonder Woman, Momoa as Aquaman, Miller as The Flash, Fisher as Cyborg, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

Released in November 2017, the film earned mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Fans praised the action and performances from Gadot and Miller, while criticizing every other aspect of the film. It had an inconsistent tone that many fault Joss Whedon (The Avengers) for, after he took over directorial duties. With a large budget of $300 million and a break-even point of $750 million, the film grossed only $658 million.
