Two weeks ago, Warner Bros. announced that it was suspending filming on The Batman due to concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak. While the film’s cast and crew remain hunkered down in the Batcave until the disease is contained, Matt Reeves has taken to Twitter to ease any fan anxiety. The reboot’s director also assured his followers that everyone involved with the production is currently doing well. You can check out what else he had to say below.

On March 13, Variety’s Justin Kroll tweeted that WB was still moving forward with The Batman’s London shoot. But as the spread of the coronavirus began to escalate all over the world, the problem became harder to ignore. The next day, Warner Bros. confirmed that it would halt production on the Dark Knight’s next film as well as that of other upcoming tentpoles, including The Matrix 4.

The Batman began filming in London back in January. To preempt any set photos from leaking the reveal of Robert Pattinson’s batsuit, Reeves unveiled the new costume himself in a camera test that featured music by the reboot’s composer, Michael Giacchino. More recently, Reeves debuted the first look at Pattinson’s muscle car-inspired Batmobile.
Warner Bros. still hasn’t announced whether The Batman will keep its planned June 25, 2021 release date.
