Black Widow Special Look Trailer Brings the Family Together Again

Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff may have met her fate in Avengers: Endgame, but the Black Widow has at least one more story to tell. The new teaser is all about bringing the family back together. And that’s the problem for Natasha. She’s not the only Black Widow out there.

Florence Pugh is making her MCU debut as Yelena Belova, a Black Widow who is both Natasha’s rival and probably her ally as well. They may not be related by blood, but they are “sisters” of a sort. Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff/Black Widow is the one who trained Natasha as an assassin. That may make Melina the “mother” of this dysfunctional and deadly family.

Stranger Things‘ David Harbour is portraying Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian. In the comics, Alexei was also Natasha’s first husband and the Russian equivalent of Captain America. However, Natasha’s romantic foil in this film is Rick Mason, an ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who may be carrying a torch for her. Additionally, William Hurt is reprising his role as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Since this movie takes place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, Ross’ forces are bound to cause Natasha trouble. And she already has enough new enemies to deal with in this film.

Black Widow will hit theaters on May 1.
