Ghostbusters Returns To Theaters For 35th Anniversary

\

While fans will have to wait until next summer to see the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel, the original film is coming back to theaters. Fathom Events will host a special 35th anniversary screening of Ghostbusters on Sunday, October 6. An encore presentation will follow on Thursday, October 10. Additional extras will be attached to the film as well.

While the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man will remain safely at a distance, this special 35th anniversary presentation of Ghostbusters will feature an introduction that reunites key members of the cast of this iconic film, sharing the memories of making a film that remains a cultural touchstone. Fathom Events also notes it has “newly unearthed and rarely seen alternate takes from famous scenes.”

Ghostbusters is a comedy legend and a movie legend, a movie whose immediate success has been followed by decades of fervent fan appreciation,” said Fathom Events’ Tom Lucas. “There’s never been a comedy quite like it, and maybe never will be again. Fathom Events is delighted to bring Ghostbusters back to the big screen for longtime fans to enjoy again. And new audiences to discover for the first time.”

There will also be two showings of the film each day, at 4:00 and 7:00 PM. Fans that are interested in purchasing tickets can visit the Fathom Events page to reserve them, as they’re available now.

It’s a good chance to catch the original film in action on the big-screen. For that matter, Ghostbusters fans will also be able to enjoy the remastered Ghostbusters the Video Game around the same time. It’s hitting Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC. The latest trailer for the game also features Aykroyd explaining the benefits of saving the world as a Ghostbuster.
