The Rob Liefeld renaissance continues. Deadline brings word that Sony is planning on turning another one of Liefeld’s creations, Shrink, into a feature film.
Liefeld originally published Shrink as a short lived webcomic in 2001. It depicted the therapy sessions between psychologist, Dr. Jessica Powers, and her super-powered clientele. The comics were punctuated with humorous one-liners in the vein of political cartoons or newspaper strips. During one appointment with a Giant-Man-esque superhero, Jessica asks, “Exactly what makes you feel that your problems are bigger than anyone else’s, Mr. Everest?”

In 2002, Jennifer Lopez’s production company bought the film rights to Shrink and intended to develop a movie with Lopez playing the title character. However, the project never got off the ground.
Liefeld is co-producing the film with Doug Belgrad and Adam Fields. Fields apparently discovered the property after coming across an unproduced screenplay penned by Bad Santa writers Glenn Ficcara and John Requa.
