Another new teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has been released in theatres, this time, focusing on another key character, Thor Odinson. The previous teaser, which was also shown before Avatar: Fire and Ash, contained a clip of Chris Evans’ Captain America and featured ample references. The new teaser also has some big references while being in line with the first teaser thematically.
List of key easter eggs and MCU references in Avengers: Doomsday Teaser 2
Here are all the easter eggs and MCU references in the new teaser for Avengers: Doomsday.
- The return of Stormbreaker
The new teaser featured Thor holding his Stormbreaker, instead of Mjolnir. This is in contrast to the final scene of Thor: Love and Thunder. In it, Thor can be seen wielding the hammer while his adoptive daughter is seen with the axe. - Thor’s prayer to Odin
Thor can be seen praying to Odin in the forest, asking the Allfather to grant him strength to protect Love, his adoptive daughter, who served as the key plot point of the fourth Thor film. - Thor’s tonal difference
In sharp contrast to his more recent appearances, Thor seems very serious and sombre in the new teaser. This hints that there could be something grave going on with the world or with Love. For this, Thor needs to fight again. - Another hint of Doom trying to get the kids
After hints about Captain America’s child and Doctor Doom’s meeting with Franklin Richards, it seems that Love could also be a target for Doctor Doom. These developments suggest that she may be at risk as events unfold. Thor, wielding Stormbreaker, appears driven by his resolve to protect and return to Love. This determination seems to indicate that something is wrong with her. Perhaps Doctor Doom is coming after the superpowered children.
Apart from these hints, the short teaser does not offer a lot of information. However, a new teaser slated to arrive next week will be much longer and will feature perhaps more details.
