With Peacemaker Season 2 almost here, there are some questions still lingering about the offbeat anti-hero, like what exactly Peacemaker’s powers and abilities are. While the first season saw him do plenty, there was hardly anything involving real superpowers. Here is a breakdown of Peacemaker’s powers and abilities.
Does Peacemaker have any powers?
In the traditional sense of superhuman powers, no, Peacemaker does not have any superpowers that make him stand out. But that does not mean Peacemaker lacks abilities. Instead, his power is like that of Deadshot and Harley Quinn.
So, while Peacemaker does not have superpowers in the traditional sense, he has many abilities that make him such a huge threat. He also has a skewed moral compass, which makes him more dangerous than many other DC heroes and anti-heroes.
What abilities does Peacemaker have?
Peacemaker is highly trained and possesses a deadly set of skills. He has peak human conditioning, an exceptionally strong build, and is a deadly hand-to-hand combatant. He is also an expert marksman and fluid in the use of many gadgets, including his various helmets.
His high-tech helmets are a big part of his arsenal as they provide him with a variety of different abilities, including X-ray vision and sonic booms. Over the course of the show and his appearance on The Suicide Squad, there have been various helmets that aid in Peacemaker’s ability to fight.
Some of the iconic helmets include:
- Screwdriver Helmet – Protects from any bodily damage using a force field.
- Sonic Boom Helmet – Can cause devastating sonic blasts.
- Underwater World Helmet – Allows underwater breathing.
- Standard Helmet – The bulletproof helmet that Peacemaker used in the film.
- X-ray vision Helmet- Allows the user to see through things.
- Human Torpedo Helmet – Hurls the user at a high speed towards a target, almost like a missile.
- Anti-Gravity Helmet- Allows the user to float vertically when activated.
Many of these helmets played pivotal parts in the show. There are other helmets as well, and perhaps some more that will make an appearance in the second season.
As per his story, Peacemaker was trained to be a dangerous killer from a very young age by his father, Auggie Smith, a White supremacist and supervillain named the White Dragon. Under his emotionally abusive father, Peacemaker grew up to be a killing machine. Though he seeks peace, his methods can be very extreme, and in a way that adds to his array of skills.
Interestingly, beyond his abilities, Peacemaker is one of DC’s most layered characters. The first season unpacked a lot of it. The upcoming second season will hopefully continue to explore the character beyond his big superhero moments, as well.
