Alien: Earth has already added to the lore of the Alien franchise, which imagines vicious and deadly creatures living in the far reaches of space, by introducing a new set of monsters. Since its inception, the Alien franchise has introduced iconic creatures such as the Xenomorph. Now, there are at least four more new creatures making their debut in Alien: Earth.
List of new monsters in Alien: Earth Episodes 1 and 2
The first two episodes of Alien: Earth introduced several notable elements and were densely packed. Here are four new monsters revealed in these episodes.
Blood Bugs
The vicious Blood Bugs appeared in the first episodes of Alien: Earth. The deadly insects seemingly got loose during the crash and waited for the opportunity to strike. Highly intelligent, the bugs attacked two Prodigy search and rescue team members in the ship’s ruined lab when they were alone.
The bugs kill by burrowing into their victims’ bodies and reproducing, much like the Xenomorphs. The full range of these bugs’ abilities is still unknown.
The Eye Octopus
The Eye Octopus is not the official name of the creature that appeared in the first two episodes, but the parasitic creature resembled an octopus with an eye as its body. This parasite, another intelligent being, displays cunning and calculation. The parasite can rip its prey’s eye out with its tentacles and place itself in its place. It can then control the host’s body.
The Flower Bud
The Flower Bud was the first specimen to appear in Alien: Earth. The bud hangs in a hallway after the crash and seems to be stalking people nearby. It also appears to be poisonous.
The first two episodes revealed little about this creature, but the folds clearly conceal something dangerous. It may open in future episodes and reveal something deadly.
Cricket Bug
The brief appearance of the Cricket Bug in the opening moments of Alien: Earth did not provide enough insight into its abilities. However, it was among the samples that Maginots’ crew gathered. It is also one that did not escape during the crash. Moreover, the show did not delve into the powers of this bug, indicating it may play a role in later episodes.
The first two episodes of Alien: Earth are now streaming on Hulu.
