McFarlane Toys Adds Owls and a Dragon to Its DC Multiverse

McFarlane Toys keeps cranking out additions to its DC Multiverse line, specifically the Bat-family. In the case of today’s announcements, it’s like there’s a new menagerie of Amazon exclusives to preorder for October, with something of a Halloween-y feel.

No Foot Draggin’

In the first instance, McFarlane is taking one of their most terrifying figures and making it even more so. The Joker Dragon from Dark Nights Metal is already nightmare-inducing, with its deranged stare, big jaws, and use of a humanoid face where humanoid faces should not be. What could top it? Make it glow in the dark, of course, so it can terrify you at night when you wake up to use the can. Even casual folks who’ve never heard of the Joker — if such individuals really exist — will cringe at the evil eyeballs shining their way.

Halloween is also all about masks, and maybe none of Batman’s foes are so fond of those as the Court of Owls, who mostly can’t be bothered to come up with the rest of a costume, utilizing the owl faces more to hide their identities than to look cool like Batman does. In a special three-pack, one unspecified member of the Court comes packed with their assassin Talon, and Nightwing, who is actually Talon’s great-great grandson.

Say what? Yes, William Cobb, born in 1901, was a gifted knife-thrower in a circus that was actually a stealth recruiting organization for the Court. Given a tooth implant filled with the degenerative compound called electrum, he has the ability to heal from near-fatal wounds and does not age like normal mortals. He may be the only person alive to have a positive experience at the dentist’s. Certainly, the only one born in 1901.

The Court of Owls preorder page is having some issues as of this writing (Keep checking, though!), but the glowing Joker Dragon is live at the same $29.99 price point as the previous non-glowing version. Shipping is expected in good time for the spooky season.
