Fights with Superman? Undercover missions as a drifter? That may be what Batman‘s been up to recently. But the original, full-color live-action Batman surfed. One time, anyway. Maintaining a stoic demeanor at all times, Adam West‘s caped crusader could even maintain a straight face wearing board shorts over his costume shorts. And that might have made for a bigger challenge than even defeating Joker on the waves. Iron Studios know their Bat-history, and have immortalized Batman surfing in a new 1/10 scale polystone statue.
That puts the figure and the base at around eight inches total. Batman stands on the board like a champ, along with a wave arguably more realistic than any on the show. And in a nod to the live-action movie at the time, Batman also wields his most distinctive accessory. No, not a Batarang. Shark-repellent batspray.

The hand-painted statue costs $160, with payment plans available. What dastardly fiend could resist such a price tag? Don’t call it a steal, or all the retro Bat-foes will emerge and try to do exactly that. But Batman condones no theft. Earn your dollars, citizens, before choosing wisely to spend them on an icon of justice and clean living. Who goes surfing.
