The first Saturday in May marks Free Comic Book Day. An annual event since 2002, the day is used by comic publishers and comic book shops to promote the joy of comics. This year is no exception, with Marvel Comics having announced an impressive line-up of five books for 2025.
The five books represent a wide variety of age-ranges and interests, offering something for readers of all ages. Most of the books tie into the main Earth-616 setting. However, for the second year in a row, Marvel is also publishing a Star Wars anthology, featuring a number of adventures set in a galaxy, far, far, away. Another title will act as a prologue to the Ultimate Universe summer event, Ultimate.
Marvel Free Comic Book Day Offerings tie into MCU and animated series
Traditionally, Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day offerings have been tied to an MCU movie or television series. That is also the case this year, with their main title featuring the Fantastic Four. Another book will feature Ironheart and highlight the Marvel Voices line. There will also be a comic aimed at kids, based on the Spidey & His Amazing Friends show.
