Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, & More Highlight Marvel Comics NYCC 2024 News

New York Comic Con is probably the biggest event of its kind outside of San Diego Comic-Con. Given that, it is unsurprising that Marvel Comics made a number of major announcements over the weekend. Here’s a quick rundown of all the biggest Marvel news from NYCC 2024.

Marvel Comics releases 8 Deaths of Spider-Man trailer

The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man may be the most highly anticipated storyline of 2024. Beyond being tied to the One World Under Doom event, it also marks the first Amazing Spider-Man issue from Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness. The two creators defined the character of Deadpool in the 1990s and have worked extensively with Spider-Man in other Marvel Comics. It will be interesting to see what they put Peter Parker through in the months to come.

Eddie Brock is now hosting the Carnage symbiote

Marvel Comics found great success with the Venom War storyline in 2024. The aftermath will continue into 2025, with Eddie Brock how hosting the Carnage symbiote. Written by Charles Soule, with art by Jesus Saiz, Eddie Brock: Carnage will lean into the horror elements of the character as Eddie struggles to satisfy the blood lust of his new partner. The first issue releases on February 12, 2025.

Marvel Comics announces Jedi Knights series

The history of the Jedi Order and its members will be explored in a new ongoing Star Wars series from Marvel Comics. Star Wars: Jedi Knights will open with a story set before The Phantom Menace, focused on Qui-Gon Jinn and a mysterious villain out to kill him. The first issue will be written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by Madibek Musabekov. The first issue is planned for March 2025.

Daredevil to face Cold Day in Hell

New York Times best-selling author Charles Soule and legendary artist Steve McNiven will partner on a three-part Daredevil miniseries. Titled Daredevil: Cold Day in Hell, the series centers on an elderly Matt Murdock, who has regained his powers after years of living without them. Marvel Comics’ Man Without Fear will return to battle on a mission to save all humanity. The first issue will be released in April 2025.
