DC Announces Two New Robin Miniseries For November

After this week’s Tim Drake news, DC has shared plans for two new miniseries that spotlight some of the other heroes who have adopted Robin’s persona. This fall, fans will revisit Dick Grayson’s early days as the Dark Knight’s partner in Robin & Batman. And a week later, virtually every current and previous Robin will come together to face a common enemy in Robins.

Robin & Batman will unfold across three issues courtesy of writer Jeff Lemire and artist Dustin Nguyen. Judging by some of the early artwork, Dick will struggle to prove his worth to his new surrogate father during a clash with a few low-rent goons. Although Batman insists on intervening, his partner-in-training is eventually able to handle the thugs himself.

Meanwhile, Robins comes from writer Tim Seeley and artist Baldemar Rivas. The book was also just crowned the winner of DC’s Round Robin competition. Between March and May, fans could vote on a list of potential miniseries. And despite the name of the contest, not all of the story ideas were Robin-centric.

The six-issue Robins event finds Dick, Tim, Jason Todd, Stephanie Brown, and Damian Wayne meeting up to converse about the ups and downs of a sidekick’s life. However, their group therapy session is cut short when a mysterious assailant crashes the party. The attacker also claims to be the original Robin, prompting her “successors” to team up and discover her true identity.

Robin & Batman #1 hits comic shops on November 9. It will be followed by the first issue of Robins on November 16.
