Exclusive Preview: Guardians of the Galaxy #6

Star-Lord is dead! Or at least as dead as anyone gets in comics. Peter Quill sacrificed himself to save the universe from the Olympian pantheon; which was reborn as bloodthirsty space gods. However, Peter’s death has fractured the Guardians of the Galaxy as we knew them. Gamora blames Rocket, and she’s excommunicated him from their makeshift family.

Now, there are two rival teams of Guardians. Rocket, Hercules, Nova (Richard Rider), Marvel Boy, and the Moondragon and Phyla-Vell from an alternate universe comprise the first team. Gamora, Groot, Drax, and the Moondragon of the Prime Universe make up the other team. Gamora’s team was hired to take out Rocket, and they seemingly agreed to do so. But now that all hell is breaking lose, the two teams are fighting back-to-back.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Guardians of the Galaxy #6, Al Ewing and artist Marcio Takara show us a glimpse of the battle that brings the Guardians together. It also depicts Nova as he seeks therapy for his ongoing mental trauma. He just hasn’t been the same since dying in Annihilation Scourge. But can anything pull Rich out of his spiral now that his best friend, Star-Lord, is gone?
