Suicide Squad Actor Turns Down Return as Killer Croc

Bad news for Suicide Squad fans, as we won’t likely see Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc again. Akinnuoye-Agbaje portrayed the Batman villain on the big screen in the 2016 blockbuster, but now it seems that he has lost interest in Waylon Jones’ alter-ego. In a recent interview with Yahoo Movie UK, the British actor confessed that he keeps “moving on” from that role.

“I don’t think I need to [do it again], to be honest,” he said. “I did it, I enjoyed it, it bought me a Bentley and I will keep moving on. To be quite honest with you, I think I went on to something quite quickly afterwards. Particularly with that kind of genre movie, I don’t take the criticism or reactions too seriously. It’s supposed to be just fun.”

Then the actor revealed that he tried out for the leading role in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, but things didn’t work out as Chadwick Boseman was cast as the King of Wakanda.

“I think we were at a point where we had discussions [with Marvel] about other things I would like to pursue and I took a meeting [about Black Panther],” Akinnuoye-Agbaje added. “As an actor, you do these meetings and some of them go somewhere, but some of them don’t. What I can say is that having seen the latest rendition, I’m just happy that it came out.”

Akinnuoye-Agbaje debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe portraying Algrim the Strong in Thor: The Dark World. As for Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman is just perfect for the role of the King of Wakanda.
