Earlier this year, Bryan Edward Hill and artist Priscilla Petraites debuted their sci-fi comic, Chariot, for Artists, Writers and Artisans. The final issue hasn’t been released yet. However, Warner Bros. Pictures isn’t waiting around. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to adapt Chariot as a live-action film.
Top Gun: Maverick and Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has signed on to helm the film. Additionally, The Flash veteran Julian Meiojas will write the script. 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen will also produce the movie alongside AWA Studios’ Zach Studin.
Within the comic and the movie of the same name, The Chariot was a Cold War-era secret weapon/high tech car. However, the car and its female driver were lost during a mission several decades ago. In the present, a petty thief recovers the car. He also discovers that the driver’s consciousness lives on in the Chariot itself.

Hill, the co-creator of the comic, also has extensive experience as a screenwriter for Titans, Ash vs. Evil Dead, and the upcoming Power Rangers reboot. However, it’s unclear from Deadline’s report if Hill will have a direct role in this adaptation.
Deadline also notes that AWA Studios has additional projects “coming behind it,” but no further details have been announced.
