Jupiter’s Legacy Will Premiere On Netflix In May

Four years ago, Netflix purchased Mark Millar’s Millarworld line of creator owned comics. Now, the first series to come out of that deal finally has a release date. Netflix has announced that Jupiter’s Legacy will debut on Friday, May 7.

Millar and artist Frank Quitely co-created the Jupiter’s Legacy comic in 2013. It takes place in a world where the first superheroes emerged in the 1930s. However, their children chafe under the example set by their parents in the decades that follow.

Josh Duhamel headlines the series Sheldon Sampson aka The Utopian. Ben Daniels also stars as Walter Sampson, Sheldon’s older brother. Additionally, Leslie Bibb plays Grace Sampson, Sheldon’s wife and a powerful heroine in her own right. Sheldon and Grace’s children Chloe and Brandon Sampson are portrayed by Elena Kampouris and Andrew Horton, respectively. Mike Wade will play Fitz Small, while Matt Lanter steps into the complex role of George Hutchene, Sheldon’s friend and ally turned hated foe.

Here’s the official description from Netflix:

But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards.”
