With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 now officially out, some fans are wondering what might be next in the world of Spider-Man for developer Insomniac Games — and if a Venom-based game could ever come their way.
Speaking to Insider recently, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 senior narrative director Jon Paquette was directly asked if Venom spin-off game would ever come. Paquette mostly sidestepped the question, saying the team is focused on Spider-Man 2 itself at the moment. However, he did add that the studio would take player feedback into consideration regarding any future updates.
Insomniac Games is focused on Spider-Man 2 for now
“So, here’s what we’re doing. We’re focused on Spider-Man 2 and what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna wait to see how the fans react,” Paquette said. “We’re gonna listen to the fans and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?’”
While Paquette was coy about what the future may hold, he did say that it would be “a long time” before any spin-offs of Spider-Man 2 come out. With the holidays approaching and the game now officially out, Paquette says the next step for the folks at Insomniac Games is to get some “sleep and take vacations.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is now available on the PlayStation 5.
