Splinter is Playable In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge

Later this year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will take its cue from Konami’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game as a new side-scrolling action title. Additionally, April O’Neil was added a playable character last summer. However, April and the TMNT aren’t the only heroes on the way. Earlier today, Dotemu confirmed that the Turtles’ mentor, Master Splinter, is also playable in the game. Splinter is playable.

To go with the announcement, Dotemu released a character trailer for Splinter. You can watch it below.

A longer gameplay video was later released as part of PlayStation Underground. This footage also showed off more of the stages and enemies from the game. The 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series is clearly the main influence for this title. Regardless, it looks like fans of all ages should find something to like about it.

It’s unclear if any additional playable characters will be added to the game. Casey Jones already seems to be the most likely candidate. But it would be fun to see Usagi Yojimbo in there as well.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC later this year.
