Agatha: Darkhold Diaries reshoots

Kathryn Hahn Teases Surprises in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries

Kathryn Hahn had hinted that the upcoming Agatha: Darkhold Diaries series on Disney+ will be more chaotic than WandaVision.

“I wish I could tell you anything. I can tell you that it’s pretty fan — fabulous, I’m going to say that,” Hahn said to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet of the 2024 SAG-AFTRA Awards. “I was going to say fantastic but then I decided to go with fabulous.”

Hahn continued by praising her co-stars Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Joe Locke, and Isabelle Fuhrman while teasing some unexpected moments that will have MCU fans talking. “It’s an amazing cast. I’m in awe of everyone’s work in this show and I think people are going to be surprised,” Hahn added. “I think they’re gonna think it’s one way and, of course, it’s gonna go a million different avenues kinda like WandaVision.”

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in the pages of Marvel’s Fantastic Four #94 (January 1970), Agatha Harkness made her MCU debut in Disney+’s WandaVision mini-series in 2021. Having destroyed her coven in 1693 after she was condemned for practicing black magic, Agatha resurfaces in the town of Westview, New Jersey so she can manipulate and steal the powers of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen). The Scarlet Witch ultimately defeats Agatha by placing magical runes around Westview to stop her from using magic and trapping her in the “Agnes” alter-ego.

What is Agatha: Darkhold Diaries about?

The official synopsis for Agatha: Darkhold Diaries reads: “In the first episode we see Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finally break out of a spell she has been trapped in. She can’t wait to go back to her old murderous ways only to find that she is powerless. The only way forward for her is to embark on a perilous quest to get her powers back with the help of an unlikely friend or two.”

Created by WandaVision’s Jac Schaeffer, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries is expected to be released in late 2024 with nine episodes on Disney+.
