Some new information on Clark Johnson’s Daredevil: Born Again character has been revealed, giving fans some potential insight into Cherry.
Who is Cherry in Daredevil: Born Again?
Insider @CanWeGetSomeToast took to Twitter to state that Johnson’s character Cherry is “similar to Brett Mahoney’s role” in the Netflix Daredevil series, For those that don’t remember, Mahoney — played by Royce Johnson — was an honest NYPD officer who would assist Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Foggy Nelson with their cases and got involved in many of the major plotlines involving antagonists like Wilson Fisk/Kingpin and the Hand clan. The insider then also stated that there’s no word on if Mahoney will be in the new series.
Daredevil: Born Again is described as an 18-episode revival of the original, which ran for three seasons. It will feature the return of leading stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, as they reprise their respective roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
Both characters made their Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts in 2021. Kingpin guest-starred as a villain in the Disney+ Hawkeye series while Matt Murdock briefly appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home as Peter Parker’s lawyer. Cox also guest-starred in two episodes of they DIsney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he showed off a lighter side of the hero.
