Eighty years ago in India, Aisha is on the run from people who want her dead. While keeping a low profile, she catches the attention of Hasan, a vocal activist for Indian independence. Hasan is immediately taken by Aisha, and he doesn’t question her about her past. Five years later, in 1947, Aisha, Hasan, and their daughter, Sana, are outcasts in their village because of the coming Partition. Aisha convinces Hasan that they have no choice but to flee to the newly formed Pakistan. However, Aisha is taken aback when Najma and the Clandestine track her down.
Aisha manages to keep Najma from learning about her family, and she gives Sana her bangle for safekeeping. On their final night in India, Aisha is separated from Hasan and Sana before Najma catches up to her again. When Najma realizes that Aisha has hidden the bangle, she fatally stabs her and leaves Aisha to die. Shortly thereafter, Kamala Khan appears in the past and finds Aisha on her deathbed. Aisha gives Kamala a picture of herself and her family before she passes on.

Realizing that she has to make the family legend come true, Kamala creates a path of stars that leads Sana back to her father’s arms. She is then somehow returned to the present, where the veil of Noor has been opened. However, the Clandestine members who attempt to return home are instantly killed. Kamala appeals to Najma to help her close the veil and save both of their worlds. Najma agrees, and also passes her powers to Kamran before sacrificing herself to shut the veil. As Kamala and Kareem celebrate, they are discovered by the older Sana and Kamala’s mother, Muneeba.
Having seen her daughter’s powers in action, Muneeba accepts Kamala’s new gifts and she also reconciles with her own mother. Kamala also shares a farewell with Kareem before she prepares to leave Pakistan with her mother. Back in the United States, a desperate Kamran approaches Bruno for help. Bruno is sympathetic to Kamran’s plight and offers him a place to stay. Unfortunately, a Damage Control drone identifies Kamran and attacks. Kamran uses his newfound powers to crash the drone, but the drone’s missile destroys the bodega below Bruno’s home.
