Jenna Ortega Makes Her Debut As Wednesday Addams In New Teaser
More than a year has passed since Jenna Ortega was announced as the headliner for Netflix’s Wednesday series. But during today’s Geeked Week reveals, Netflix has released a brand new teaser for its upcoming Addams Family spinoff featuring Ortega as Wednesday Addams, the eldest child of Gomez and Morticia, finally ready to claim the spotlight for herself.
The clip doesn’t highlight any actual footage from the series. Instead, viewers will have to settle for extended shots of Wednesday tying her pigtails before she steps into frame and straightens the collar on her dress. The teaser also features an appearance by Thing, who perches on Wednesday’s shoulder and joins her in snapping along to the iconic Addams Family theme. Overall, it looks like the show will stay true to the character’s classic design. But it should be fun to see what Ortega brings to the role when the series debuts later this year.

Ortega has some big shoes to fill, especially with former Wednesday actress, Christina Ricci, appearing on the series with her. But with Tim Burton sitting in the director’s chair, the show is bound to showcase a macabre spin on its source material. Other cast members include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, and more.
Netflix hasn’t announced a premiere date for Wednesday.
