Being a Witcher is a pretty thankless job in Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels. It’s a calling, but Witchers aren’t particularly popular on the Continent. In fact they are only slightly more tolerated so than the monsters they slay. Regardless, Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia still has to do his duty, even if no one is watching. In this case, it’s probably a good thing, because Geralt is in over his head in The Witcher season 2’s newest preview clip.
Netflix’s official Witcher Twitter account has posted a preview scene in which Geralt faces a Myriapod. It’s a human-sized insect, and it’s also very unimpressed by Geralt’s magic or his sword.
New monsters await. Are you ready?

Here’s the official season 2 description from Netflix:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
The Witcher season 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 17.
