Spike Spiegel Shoots You Down in Cowboy Bebop Character Posters

The hype is sky-rocketing for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop at Netflix. Today, the producers debuted a series of character posters for the protagonists of the show, John Cho’s Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir’s Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda’s Faye Valentine. The latest promotional material doesn’t add much to the story, but they confirm some of the things Netflix has already hinted at. All posters carry a sort of 80s Hong Kong-esque vibe, the same tone that fans saw in the recently-released short. On top of that, they offer a really close look at the characters. The look of Shakir’s Jet Black is both pretty impressive and accurate at the same time. And the same goes for Pineda’s Faye Valentine, while Cho’s Spike Spiegel features a pose that recalls Michael Madsen’s Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs.

Here’s the official description from Netflix:

Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”

Cowboy Bebop hits Netflix on November 19.
