Last year, The Mandalorian season 2 premiered at the end of October. However, a combination of factors have kept the third season from rolling cameras in time for a third season to arrive in 2021. Chief among those reasons are the spinoff series, The Book of Boba Fett, which had to be filmed first. Regardless, Disney+’s flagship series is once again shooting now.
Series co-star and occasional director, Carl Weathers, has posted on Twitter that he’s reporting to The Mandalorian set tomorrow. He also confirmed that his character, “Greef Karga will be back.”
Mandalorian, season #3 begins for Yours Truly, on tomorrow. Greef Karga will be back on Disney+. #BePeace

Additionally, Weathers shared a response to screenwriter and director Steven E. de Souza.

In August, Weathers indicated that The Mandalorian season 3 would begin shooting in September. And it may have. Weathers may appear in more than one episode, but he’s never been in every episode.
The Mandalorian season 3 will likely premiere in late 2022 or in 2023.
