The first episode of Marvel’s What If…? gave us a glimpse of an alternate past with Captain Carter, while episode 2 showed us T’Challa’s life as Star-Lord. However, the third episode is apparently going to give viwers a more contemporary story.
Marvel Studios and Disney+ have debuted a Black Widow poster for this week’s episode. On the surface, this incarnation of Natasha Romanoff looks fairly close to her MCU counterpart. Regardless, looks can be deceiving. Especially when the Black Widow is involved.

Additionally, a second poster was released that features Nick Fury.
Samuel L. Jackson briefly reprised his role as Fury in the first episode of this series. Presumably he will also be back for this episode as well. However, Scarlett Johansson will not be voicing Black Widow on this animated series. And that was the case even before Johansson’s lawsuit against Disney.
The third episode of What If…? premieres on Wednesday, August 25 on Disney+.
