Hamilton’s Renée Elise Goldsberry Joins the Cast of Marvel’s She-Hulk

The cast for Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk series is starting to come together. Deadline is reporting that Renée Elise Goldsberry is the latest addition to the cast. The report also states that Goldsberry will play “Amelia.” However, there are no additional details about her character at this time.

Goldsberry won a Tony Award for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in the smash hit musical, Hamilton. Regardless, sci-fi fans may know her better as Quellcrist Falconer from Netflix’s Altered Carbon. She has also appeared on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

She-Hulk is a legal comedy set within the MCU, with Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk. Unlike her cousin, Bruce Banner, Jennifer maintains her career as a lawyer even after her transformation. She also specializes in superhero law.

Back in December, Marvel confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk for the show. In the comics, Bruce saved Jennifer’s life after an assassination attempt. But his Gamma irradiated blood trigged her own Hulk powers.

Another familiar face returning for the show is Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination. Additionally, Ginger Gonzaga will portray “Jennifer’s best friend.” But a name for Gonzaga’s character has not been revealed.

Jessica Gao adapted She-Hulk for TV, and the episodes will be directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia. Production will begin later this year, and the series will presumably hit Disney+ in 2022.
