It appears that fans will see plenty of new faces in The Witcher Season 2. Recently, THR broke the news that actor Graham McTavish will play the role of Dijkstra, a master spy and head of special forces for the kingdom of Redania, in the upcoming sophomore season. McTavish is best known for having portrayed Dwalin in The Hobbit film trilogy, and the Saint of Killers on Preacher. In the books, he’s a towering, bald man. He and Geralt of Rivia are not quite friends, but they are not enemies either.
Besides Dijkstra, Netflix has cast six more roles, including two major ones. Adjoa Andoh will portray Nenneke, the priestess of Melitele, and the head of the Temple of Melitele, while Cassie Clare from Brave New World is Philippa Eilhart, the advisor to Redania’s King Vizimir II and leader of the Lodge of Sorceresses.

Additionally, Liz Carr is Fenn, a partner in a law firm and detective agency in Dorian, while Fenn’s partner, Codringher, will be played by Simon Callow. Actor Kevin Doyle has been cast in the role of Ba’lian, apparently a new character in The Witcher Universe. Lastly, Chris Fulton will portray Rience, a mage hired to look for Ciri after she disappeared during the slaughter of Cintra.
The new adventures of Geralt of Rivia will shed new light on the white-haired witcher’s backstory. Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for The Witcher Season 2.
