WandaVision may have a mystery at its heart, but thankfully Disney+ isn’t treating the show as completely top secret. Unlike The Mandalorian, which keeps every episode tightly under wraps until airtime, Marvel’s newest foray into TV provided the first three episodes to select critics. And thus far, based on their social media responses, everyone seems pretty happy with what they see. (We should note it’s mostly the same people who praised Wonder Woman 1984, but then also note that we did as well. So your mileage may vary.) Here’s a sample of what all the first WandaVision reactions are saying:
First up, the editor of our sister site Comingsoon, Max Evry:
Watched 3 eps of @MarvelStudios’ @wandavision! I love that rather than doing a 3hr MCU movie they’re exploring TV as a medium. So far it’s a fun head trip, Olsen & Bettany make a surprisingly able comedy team. Layering in LOTS of Easter Eggs & clues. Kathryn Hahn steals the show! pic.twitter.com/oQXSq8XgXx

Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com also emphasizes how different the show’s approach is from Marvel-as-usual:
#WandaVision is truly unlike anything the MCU has put out before. I can’t emphasize that enough.
It is a blast to watch. It is so committed to the sitcom structure of story telling that it feels like a bold risk – but it pays off and builds a mystery.
It is awesome. pic.twitter.com/NbGBsGLfmc

Erik Davis at Fandango says pretty much the same thing:
I’ve watched THREE episodes of #WandaVision and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Truly unlike anything Marvel Studios has done — it’s light, funny & fully committed to its retro sitcom inspirations, but it also carefully sprinkles in enough mystery & intrigue to keep you guessing pic.twitter.com/8dqegsg5By

Collider’s Peri Nemiroff suggests it’s so different it may disorient fans at first:
Very, VERY into what they’re doing with #WandaVision after seeing the first 3 episodes. It’s different, and it might take a moment to adjust but, thus far, this feels like a creative pivot well worth taking – one that’s highly entertaining and could have a huge payoff. pic.twitter.com/PQjKouT77z

io9’s Germain Lussier is surprised Marvel even attempted to be this strange:
Watched the first 3 episodes of #WandaVision yesterday. It’s weird & hilarious in ways Marvel has no right attempting, but they nail it anyway. Then it sprinkles in just enough mystery to keep you speculating and fascinated. I’m so excited to see how far it can go. pic.twitter.com/7PIFQiUNxF

CinemaBlend’s Sean O’Connell keeps the enthusiasm high:
Marvel has never done anything at all like #WandaVision and I am FLOORED by the show’s imagination, creativity and risks. Each episode BRILLIANTLY recreates a classic sitcom model, but also feeds into a much larger mystery with HUGE Marvel ramifications. I love this so much! pic.twitter.com/rPURhyqaCt

Decider’s Brett White praises the show’s sincerity, pushing back against fears it would be a simplistic spoof:
WandaVision is everything I wanted it to be and more. It is not a parody or snarky take on classic sitcoms. It’s the most respectful, sincere celebration of that art form that I’ve seen…. ever?

Many praise the show’s performances, including DiscussingFilm:
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany deliver their best performances in the MCU whilst Teyonah Parris shines in every scene she’s in.
The series serves as a magnificent return to the MCU whilst paving its own path. pic.twitter.com/IzZCIrSyT9

And Buzzfeed’s Nora Dominick praises the acting:
Okay #Wandavision. As a long time Wanda/Scarlet Witch fan, this series is everything I could hope for and more. It’s one of the most fun things Marvel has produced. Also Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s chemistry is electric. I can’t wait to talk about it ALL pic.twitter.com/Ux9cWD09Tg

There are more reactions out there, but this sampling represents them all. Thus far there appear to be no negative or even mixed responses. That’s generally the norm for Marvel Cinematic Universe entries anyway, but if anyone doubted it’s of the usual caliber, the responses seem to confirm what we’d expect
