Last season on Batwoman, Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane came back to Gotham City to take up the mantle of the Bat. She had to step up because Bruce Wayne/Batman disappeared to parts unknown. However, in the upcoming second season, Kate has disappeared as well. In her place is Ryan Wilder, a young woman who is destined to be the new protector of Gotham City.
The CW has released the first teaser for Batwoman season 2. It’s does show us Javicia Leslie’s Ryan as she puts on the Batwoman costume for the first time. Ryan also tells herself that “it’s time to be powerful” as she steps into a brand new world.

How and why Ryan becomes Batwoman is still a mystery for now. Additionally, one of the big stories for season 2 will explore what happened to Kate. Regardless of how that turns out, Gotham City still needs its Batwoman. And Ryan will have her hands full with new enemies and old foes alike.
Batwoman season 2 will hit The CW on Sunday, January 17, 2021. You can watch the entire teaser below.
