War is on the Horizon in The Expanse Season 5 Trailer

Despite production shutdowns across the entertainment industry, a new season of The Expanse is coming in December. During New York Comic Con’s Metaverse, Amazon Prime introduced the first trailer for The Expanse season 5. If the footage is any indication, then there’s a war on the horizon along with a deadly reckoning for Earth.

Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) was introduced as a Belter terrorist last season on The Expanse. Now, Marco is ready to strike back at Earth for centuries of oppression against the Belters. Additionally, Marco appears to have access to mass drivers that could devastate humanity’s home world. Meanwhile, the crew of the Rocinante has gone their separate ways. Holden (Steven Strait) is still chasing the mystery of the alien race that created the Protomolecule. Or more importantly, what killed them. However, Naomi (Dominique Tipper) has a personal reason to oppose Marco. She wants to reclaim their son, Filip Inaros (Jasai Chase Owens) from his influence. But it may be far too late for Filip. He’s a true believer in Marco’s cause, and Filip isn’t likely to side with his mother.

Additionally, Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo) is drawn out of retirement by request of Bobbie (Frankie Adams). Bobbie previously discovered a conspiracy on Mars that may be connected to Marco’s weapons of mass destruction. That’s why Alex (Cas Anvar) has come home to Mars to help Bobbie get to the truth. Finally, Amos (Wes Chatham) is back on Earth revisiting his past. However, Amos may find himself planetside when the deadliest terrorist attack in history unfolds.

The first three episodes of The Expanse will hit Amazon Prime on Wednesday, December 16. There will be seven subsequent episodes in season 5, which will be released weekly through February 3, 2021.
