Ruby Rose’s stint as Batwoman in The CW’s series lasted shorter than fans expected. The actress left the show ahead of Season 2 after making her Arrowverse debut as Kate Kate in the Elseworlds crossover of late 2018. Now, Rose’s Instagram shares a fan-made video of her best moments on-air, with a thankful message for everyone involved in the show.
“Thank you everyone for coming on this journey,” she wrote. “If I mentioned everyone it would be 1000 tags.. but Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and studio. It wasn’t an easy decision but those who know, know.. I didn’t want to not acknowledge everyone involved and how big this was for TV and for our community. I have stayed silent because that’s my choice for now but know I adore you all. I’m sure next season will be amazing also. Xxx *hangs up cowl and cape.”
Rose seems to hint at the fact that there might be more than the eye meets in her decision to leave the show. You can watch the video the actress posted in the player below.

The announcement of the actress’s exit from the show came out of the blue two days after the series concluded its first season. The show was generally welcomed by fans, becoming The CW’s second most-watched show among adults 18-49 behind only The Flash. The television network is trying to make most out of this situation, with Batwoman executive producer Marc Guggenheim believing the recasting will bring more viewers to the show. The CW is looking for another LGBTQ actress to replace Rose as the new Kate Kane.
