Judging by the series’ first episode, HBO’s Watchmen is going to be filled with tension and suspense. Damon Lindelof was also able to enlist Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to compose a haunting, synth-driven score. Via Stereogum, Reznor and Ross have revealed when fans can pick up their Watchmen contributions on vinyl.
However, this won’t be a traditional release. Instead, the Watchmen season 1 soundtrack will be released several weeks apart on three different LPs. The first one will hit on November 4. The next two volumes will follow on November 25 and December 16. As HBO did with the series, Reznor and Ross are also keeping details surrounding Watchmen’s soundtrack a secret…for now.

The three albums are currently available for pre-order on Nine Inch Nails’ official website. The LPs were “created in collaboration with the show’s writers.” Additionally, each volume features unique artwork and packaging that “explores the culture of Watchmen America and provides revealing insights into the saga’s mythology and mysteries.” Our guess is that each release coincides with specific events on the show.
