After teasing us with a new poster, still images, and 15-second teaser, Marvel has finally unveiled the full trailer for Cloak & Dagger season 2. The series will return with a special 2-hour premiere episode on April 4.
Based on the new footage, the heroic duo are still learning how to control their powers. But there are some serious trials ahead, as Tandy and Tyrone’s partnership is tested. Emma Lahana’s Detective Brigid O’Reilly is back, after seemingly suffering fatal wounds in the season finale. Last season, O’Reilly was an occasional ally to the duo. Now that she’s back, O’Reilly’s loyalties are in question and she appears to have developed a new violent streak. Comic fans will recognize this as a sign of O’Reilly’s transformation into Mayhem. However, it doesn’t look like this take on Mayhem will be surrounded by her signature toxic gas aura.

O’Reilly’s return couldn’t have come at a worse time, as the titular heroes are currently dealing with NOLA-based sex traffickers. O’Reilly has her own gruesome way of dealing with the offenders that involves slitting throats with her bare hands. Unfortunately, a debate over the morality of O’Reilly’s methods causes friction between Tyrone and Tandy. Of course, there’s also no shortage of teenage melodrama to placate Freform’s younger viewers.
