The Weinstein Company has acquired distribution rights to martial arts action-thriller Dragon Tiger Gate in all English-speaking territories, reports Variety.
Wilson Yip directed the big screen adaptation of Hong Kong comic book “The Gate of Dragon and Tiger.”
Donnie Yen, Nicholas Tse, Shawn Yue, Dong Jie and Li Xiao-ran star in the film, which follows three young Chinese martial arts masters who emerge from the back streets of Hong Kong to help the powerless fight injustice.
Raymond Wong and Nansun Shi produced “Tiger.” Yen co-produced and also oversaw the action sequences as martial arts choreographer.
TWC picked up the pic, budgeted at $10 million, from Mandarin Films Distribution. It is slated for a July 28 release in Hong Kong.
