Variety reports that Regency Enterprises has bought the comedy Super Ex from Emmy-winning “Simpsons” writer/co-executive producer Don Payne and set it up with producer Gavin Polone through his Pariah production company.
The story centers on a man who discovers that the woman he’s dating is a superhero and then decides to break up when she becomes too needy and manipulative. She then uses her superpowers to turn his life into a living nightmare.
“Very rarely do I read a script that makes me laugh out loud, but this one did on every page,” Polone told the trade.
