Lady Death Hits DVD in Time for Halloween

Bodacious babes with killer attitudes and bodies to match, not to mention the capability to knock you into the next time zone; they all can give thanks to the original bad girl, Lady Death. First appearing in the pages of Chaos Comics a decade ago, Lady Death is the personification of all that a bad girl could want: the ability to effortlessly slay countless enemies and physical assets any supermodel would die for. The scantily clad femme fatale has been the inspiration for the idea that the leading lady doesn’t have to always be made of “sugar and spice.” With a fiendishly devoted fan-base, Lady Death introduced the comic book world to a new idea of a hero; where being bad can sometimes be good.

To celebrate her 10th birthday, Lady Death, in all her sultry supernatural beauty, has been brought to life with a full-length animated feature from ADV Films, Lady Death: The Motion Picture, to be released on DVD just in time for Halloween. With a gothic epic feel, Lady Death: The Motion Picture recreates the themes and styles of the popular comic book series, complete with gory battles, costumes that barely leave much to the imagination, and a storyline that spans beyond life into the fiery depths of Hell.

The film begins in 15th Century Sweden, where Hope, the beautiful daughter of Matthias, a skilled mercenary who is in actuality Lucifer, is accused of being the devil’s consort. Sentenced by the town priest to be burned at the stake, Hope is visited by the malevolent Pagan. Unable to think clearly, she accepts Lucifer’s offer of life in Hell over a hideous death … only to discover that there are far worse fates than dying. Lucifer’s plan to corrupt a soul of pure innocence meets unanticipated resistance, as Hope rejects Lucifer’s scheme and eventually finds herself transformed into the powerful warrior Lady Death, who challenges the Lord of Lies for control of Hell itself.

“I think she is the ultimate anti-heroine and in some ways defines what we all sometimes wish for: the drive to achieve our goal no matter the cost,” said writer/producer Andy Orjuela.

Lady Death: The Motion Picture, available October 5th, can be pre-ordered at Amazon.com.
