X-Men’s Michael Fassbender Talks Magneto Return After Deadpool & Wolverine

Michael Fassbender has shown interest in reprising the role of Magneto in the future following the humongous success of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine and witnessing the return of Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. Fassbender has appeared in a total of four X-Men movies, namely X-Men: Apocalypse, X-Men: First Class, Dark Phoenix, and Days of Future Past, as the younger version of Magneto. Meanwhile, Sir Ian McKellen portrayed the older version.

Michael Fassbender open to Magneto’s return following Deadpool & Wolverine’s success

The acclaimed actor has been touring to promote his upcoming spy/thriller series, The Agency, produced by none other than Grant Heslov and George Clooney.

Recently, Michael Fassbender was the latest guest for a chat with Collider, where he expressed that he is open to portraying Magneto again on the big screen. He also praised his former co-star Hugh Jackman, with whom he has worked on the X-Men movies, and Ryan Reynolds, for their work in Deadpool & Wolverine. Fassbender said, “Well, you know, I loved working with Hugh. You know, he’s an absolute gentleman; he’s so talented. I’m a big fan of Ryan and what he’s done with the Deadpool series.”

As per the outlet, Fassbender also highlighted his love for Deadpool and asserted that despite being busy with The Agency currently, he is “always open to things.” Moreover, the actor stated his views on balancing work and life but left fans with a tease regarding his future as Magneto. He added, “I’ve got two little boys. I want to be available to them and be around. So right now, my focus and energy is really going to be on The Agency, but you never say never.”

After the mammoth success of Deadpool & Wolverine and Wolverine’s appearance in the MCU, superhero fans are eager to see more X-Men enter the universe.
