Rumor: Marvel’s Midnight Sons Movie Being Fast-Tracked After Blade’s Delay

Marvel Studios has added multiple untitled movies to its upcoming slate and Midnight Sons could be one of those. While Blade is facing yet another delay, Mahershala Ali’s vampire hunter might star in another crossover project before his R-rated solo adventure, as a new rumor calls for an MCU-based Midnight Sons event.

Marvel rumored to be scouting a director for Midnight Sons movie

Marvel continues to launch darker and edgier characters, including Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Blade, Moon Knight, and several others. While they’ve all made their on-screen debuts and dipped their toes into the MCU’s supernatural wing, they have yet to form a team.

However, if the latest rumor is correct, a few or all of these characters could assemble in the Midnight Sons movie. According to familiar scooper Daniel Richtman / DanielRPK, Marvel is speeding up the production of the aforementioned crossover film. As the solo Blade outing takes a back seat, Midnight Sons has seemingly become Marvel’s focus and the studio is even searching for a director to helm it.

Blade was supposed to provide the major groundwork for Marvel’s supernatural sector. Then, fans could have expected a Midnight Sons movie to follow it up, if things went smoothly. But if Richtman’s scoop is to be believed, Marvel could be going in the opposite direction. Instead of launching a solo Blade movie first, the studio might launch him through the Midnight Sons team-up event.

However, nothing is confirmed at the moment, and it’s possible for Blade to still arrive first. So, the above scoop needs to be taken with a grain of salt. For now, the only confirmed upcoming projects include Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars.

Meanwhile, Shang-Chi 2, Doctor Strange 3, and Spider-Man 4 seem to be also moving forward pretty quickly behind the scenes. But similar to Blade, they don’t have a confirmed release date yet.
