[SPOILER] Addresses His MCU Cameo in Doctor Strange 2

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! Mcu Cameo

It’s been almost two weeks since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hit theaters and fans are still talking about Stephen Strange’s meet-up with the Illuminati. Most of the group’s members were variants of characters who have either shown up in the MCU already or have yet to appear in its primary timeline. That roster notably included Anson Mount as Black Bolt. Technically, Mount wasn’t the most surprising addition (that honor belongs to John Krasinski’s Reed Richards). But given the overwhelmingly negative reception to ABC’s short-lived Inhumans series in 2017, it seemed unlikely he would ever play the King of Attilan again.

Luckily, Marvel Studios decided to give Mount another chance, and with a more comic-accurate costume. Now that the secret is out, Mount has finally addressed his MCU comeback on Twitter, and he had nothing but good things to say about working with Kevin Feige and director Sam Raimi. You can read his latest post below.

Unfortunately, Wanda Maximoff made short work Earth-838’s version of Black Bolt in the film. But somewhere in the MCU, a living version of Black Bolt is still at large, waiting for a second chance at live-action glory. Mount currently has his hands full as Christopher Pike in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+. However, the response to his appearance in Doctor Strange 2 could potentially give way to an expanded role down the line. It also opens the door for several of his Inhumans co-stars to return to the Marvel fold as well, but hopefully with better writing and special effects this time.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters everywhere. All eight episodes of Inhumans are currently available to stream on Disney+.
