The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow is more than halfway through its sixth season, but the producers have no intention of slowing things down. During today’s Comic-Con@Home festivities, the series’ cast joined co-showrunners Phil Klemmer and Keto Shimizu for a virtual panel to discuss the adventures that will unfold over the next few weeks. Additionally, they even revealed some new surprises about the show’s future.
To start things off, the panelists debuted a new trailer for the season’s back half, which interrupts Sara and Ava’s wedding with more Bishop-induced hijinks. The team will face everything from alien bowlers to cursed board games, and they’ll even stop for a few magic mushrooms along the way. However, none of these challenges compare to the threat posed by John Constantine, who’s flirtations with dark magic could spell his own doom. Check out the new preview below.
Speaking of Constantine, Matt Ryan confirmed that his beloved occult detective will depart Legends at the end of season 6. Regardless, he’ll still have a role to play when the series returns to The CW this fall. Season 7 will re-introduce Ryan as Dr. Gwyn Davies, an “eccentric scientist” from the early 1900s. Whatever his skills are, they’ll be exactly what the team needs next year.

“As everyone who loves him knows, in the end, John Constantine will walk his path alone,” said Ryan. “The time has come for John to part ways with the Legends, and for me to part ways with John. I’m really excited to be creating this new role on the show and having some fun with it — discovering how this new character fits in and causes some trouble for the Legends.”
The new season will also make room in the Waverider for another new addition to the Legends. Amy Louise Pemberton, who has voiced the ship’s AI, Gideon, since season 1, is getting a corporeal form when the series returns. Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to the release of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Mixtape. This new soundtrack album features cast performances of songs like “Space Girl,” “Mr. Parker’s Cul-De-Sac,” and more. The album hits streaming services on August 20.
The next episode of Legends of Tomorrow airs on August 8 on The CW. Season 7 will premiere on October 13.
