A new noir fantasy series is debuting on Amazon Video as soon as the summer is over. Amazon’s Carnival Row features a Victorian fantasy world in which mythical creatures live alongside with humans. The cast sees stars Cara Delevingne and Orlando Bloom as refugee faerie Vignette Stonemoss and as human detective Rycroft Philostrate, respectively.
Now Amazon has released the first official teaser of the upcoming series. The trailer opens with Delevingne’s winged faerie character explaining that “there is a rift in the city”. Then Bloom’s Rycroft Philostrate warns the watchers that “time is running out” as “something inhuman approaches”. Eventually, Delevingne stresses out the need to work together in order to stop all this.

In the upcoming Amazon series, Delevingne and Bloom will work side-by-side to solve a series of murders creating tension between human citizens and the growing immigrant population of mythical creatures, who arrived in Carnival Row after fleeting their war-torn homeland.
Carnival Row sees René Echevarria and Travis Beacham as executive producers of the show’s eight-episode first season. Additionally, the cast includes David Gyasi (Interstellar), Karla Crome (Misfits), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), and Tamzin Merchant (Salem). The project initially saw the involvement of Guillermo Del Toro, who then stepped away from it due to his feature film schedule.
