Game of Thrones Auction Puts the Iron Throne on the Line

If you have ever wanted to sit on the Iron Throne, now it may be the time to step forward and take it by yourselves. According to a report by Empire, the auction house Profiles In History is putting up for auction its replica of the throne, allegedly forged from 1,000 swords by the fiery breath of Aegon Targaryen’s dragon Balerion the Black Dread, with the bidding starting on June 27th in Los Angeles. The replica made its public debut at 2014’s Game Of Thrones: The Epic Fan Experience held in New York, when George R.R. Martin and certain members of the cast presented the replica to the winner of a fan-based contest.

Additionally, the auction includes a painting of GoT characters by artists Sanjulian, which debuted at the 2013 SXSW Festival. You can find more details of the auction on the Profiles In History site shortly.

The fans who will take part in the auction must keep in mind that, yes, with the Iron Throne comes the title of King (or Queen) of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, but also the danger of ruling the Seven Kingdoms. Be sure to make your bid high enough: in the Game of Thrones (auction) either you win or you die. It is known.

Game of Thrones’ finale airs Sunday, May 19. Are you going to take part in the auction to win the Iron Throne? Let us know in the comments section below.
